Job Introduction

Due to continued growth of our Telecoms Department, TLI Group are recruiting for a Fibre Coordinator for our expanding Telecoms Department, based out of our Limerick office. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Fibre Coordinator will coordinate the fibre crews ensuring the timely delivery of a major telecommunications projects.

Coordinating the work activities of the fibre crews, involves advanced scheduling of the works ensuring first time completion of the tasks. Liaising directly with clients to confirm commercial agreements are in place. Communication with end uses to notify them in advance of works commencing on-site.

Our Telecoms team is based out of our Limerick HQ, but travel to and from site on occasion will also form part of the role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implementation of the TLI Safety Charter and Life Saving Rules.
  • The Fibre Coordinator will work closely with Designers, Project Manager and Build Teams to ensure cost affective planning is implemented for fibre works.
  • Project programming of upcoming planned works to ensure all risks have been removed in advance of mobilising crews to site.
  • Coordinating with the design team to ensure work packs are available.
  • Work independently and proactively to resolve any potential issues.
  • Manage weekly fibre schedule and work allocation in consultation with clients and managers.
  • Communicate and issue job packs to fibre crews in the field.
  • Ensuring that delegated work is correctly planned, resourced, executed in accordance with client specifications standards, agreed work methodology, relevant legislation, technical, safety and environmental standards.
  • Issue outage and change requests in a timely manner relating to network build and fault resolution.
  • Assist cabling, splicing, and testing crews when required.
  • Compilation of patching plans for new build network and completion of same on site at handover stage.
  • Update the revenue tracker daily and share with management team
  • Developing and ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are in place and up to date.
  • Ensure TLI Group crews have approved Permit to Work and ESBT and Siro POP sites relating to build/maintenance works where necessary.
  • Validation of fibre testing results and upload to Smartsheet.
  • Carry out ad-hoc duties as requested by your manager.
  • Liaise with client & subcontracting personnel in a clear and professional manner.
  • Escalate any issues in a timely manner to Senior Management.
  • Taking a solutions and proactive based approach to resolving issues.
  • Ensures GDPR integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Aid the operations team by identifying private wayleave and customer access issues.
  • Attendance at on-site meetings with operations and clients as required.
  • Share details of works to be undertaken by the team and ensure they have the materials in place.
  • Driving efficiencies on-site to ensure first time completion.
  • Identify opportunities for project growth.
  • Identify fibre staff for future growth of the team.
  • Providing feedback to design where planned works are not correct.

The Ideal Candidate


  • Experience in project planning, ideally in telecoms, however other industries will also be considered.
  • Comfortable using a range of technology tools (training will be provided).
  • Sound Knowledge of Health and Safety.
  • Experience within the utilities sector.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of software such as Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Knowledge of software like AutoCAD & ArcGIS would be an advantage.
  • Analytical, detail oriented, high level of flexibility with willingness to learn/develop.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks & work to tight deadlines
  • Good visual and spatial awareness combined with well-developed technical and creative skills
  • Commercial awareness.
  • The ability to be able to read network maps.
  • Very good English language skills, both written and verbal.
