Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for our expanding GIS team, based in North West, UK, working on Telecoms projects. Liaising with operational leaders and the design team will be an integral part of the role. ArcGIS Platform exposure is a necessity in this role. Graduate candidates from relevant disciplines will also be considered. 

Main Responsibilities

Outputs & Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and aid in the design of Telecoms departments systems and ensure these are operating optimally: - ArcGIS & AutoCAD Microsoft Office Software.
  • Plan system flows from the ground up and implement same.
  • Write technical requirements for training the team in implementing systems.
  • Identify, understand and plan for organisational impacts of planned systems, and ensure that new technical requirements are properly integrated with existing processes and skill sets.
  • Interact with internal users to learn and document requirements that are then used to streamline the telecoms department processes.
  • Interact with software developers to understand software limitations to optimise our annual expenditure.
  • Help the team during system integration, e.g. provide use cases, flowcharts, etc.
  • Develop SOP’s and user guides. Ensure full compliance from the team with regards to operation of systems.
  • Aid in the development of a fully operating WMS on ArcGIS where both Design and Build operate on the one system where all information is fully integrated on one single map per town.
  • Develop reporting tools for the easy extraction of data analysis.
  • Assisting site crews with FTTB rollout and monitor progress and usage of systems.
  • Assist the team in driving of improvement in costs, timescales and quality conducting quality control.
  • Report on project deliverables to department manager
  • Liaise with the entire team and identify opportunities to implement efficiencies to exiting SOP’s.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload considering your own objectives and those of the wider team

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • Recognised academic training such as a HND or Degree course in GIS or similar
  • Graduate candidates from relevant disciplines will also be considered

Knowledge

•    Proficient use and knowledge of software such as ESRI Suite of Applications including  ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online GIS, AutoCAD, Word, Excel & Outlook
•    Evidence of several consistent successes in the application of GIS to relevant projects 
•    Ability to evidence recent relevant design experience
