The initial role is to fulfil a requirement in our Renewables & Substation section involving the Construction and Fit out of Substations and associated Civil works across the Midlands and East of Ireland with opportunities to progress and/or transfer to divisions such as Power, Minor Civils, Telecoms, Electricity and Home Services as the company continues to grow.

A relevant Health & Safety qualification is required along with a full driving licence, and we believe the role would suit a fully experienced Health and Safety professional with several years’ experience who is seeking a stable environment.

Work from home, our Dublin/Limerick/Cork office and travel to site as necessary.

Main Responsibilities

HSE Administration duties

Duties:

  • Tracking inspection and audit performance
  • Preparing weekly safety reports
  • Tracking safety certification documents
  • Liaise with training department regarding training requirements
  • Circulation of safety reports
  • Maintains HSE records. Including training documentation, inspection records, accident files & follow-ups, and statistical records, including the HSE Database.

HSE field duties

  • Ensure that work is executed in accordance with client specifications standards, agreed work methodology, relevant legislation, technical, safety and environmental standards.
  • Monitor safety performance and advise on compliance with our health, safety and welfare policies and the company safety management systems including ISO45001 and 14001
  • Mentoring and managing the Ireland Operations HSE team
  • Engaging with employees to create a safety-first culture and identifying training needs
  • Ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place and current
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all monthly KPI's and statistics
  • Ensuring regular and effective communications via safety briefs, safety reps and engagement meetings etc.
  • Reviewing and responding to Good catches, near misses & STOPs
  • Carrying out accident investigations
  • Develop safety documents in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Conduct regular formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in the Safety Management system
  • Communicate the findings of the audits to site management and assist in the closure of issues in line with TLI Group policy
  • Advise/assist the Site/Project Management team in drafting and communicating method statements
  • Develop the Construction Stage Safety & Health plan in conjunction with the construction team.
  • Review and be knowledgeable with the technical aspects of RAMS prepared by the construction team and draft risk assessment section for inclusion in the finished document.
  • Carry out professional and impartial investigations as required.
  • Participate in the development of emergency plans.
  • Ensure sub-contractor safety documents are produced and available on site, relevant and in accordance with best practice and current legislation

  • Overview of HSE issues
  • Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook
