Job Introduction

As part of the growing Telecoms Design Team here at TLI Group, we are seeking an AutoCAD Technician to join us to work on both existing and newly awarded contracts associated with Fibre Optic Design projects.

Our Telecoms Design Department is operated from our Limerick Office which is where the role is based.

Travel to and from site on occasion will also be required.  A shared company vehicle is available for this purpose.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide AutoCAD design support to the TLI Group Telecoms Design Department.  They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the design of fibre related networks on the ESB Network. 

Previous experience in a role requiring significant AutoCAD expertise is necessary.  Design experience in the utilities sector, while being an advantage, will not be essential as on the job training and mentorship will be provided.  Proficient knowledge of Microsoft software, such as Word, Excel & Outlook, is essential.

Main duties include the following;

  • AutoCAD support to the Telecoms Design Team - Support the Design Team with assisting in all aspects relating to survey outputs; survey packs, survey reporting & data logging;
  • As-building of the Fibre to the Building (FTTB) infrastructure utilising primarily ESBN infrastructure but may include third party and new build routes to enable a FTTB build;
  • Identification of Archaeological & Environmental data for design areas;
  • Assist in the production of Low Level Designs, Site Work Packs, straight line diagrams and As-Built Engineering;
  • Assisting site crews with FTTB rollout and track build changes while recording the as-built fibre network for handover to the Client;
  • Site surveying and identification of fibre optic network routes for the respective Designer;
  • Support the Team responsible for obtaining consents, wayleaves and approvals;
  • Assist lead Designer in reporting of Eligibility files on the assigned Clusters;
  • Assist the lead Designer in preparing any information for handover packs;
  • Identification of Land Owner’s and preparation of associated mapping and documentation;
  • In executing TLI Groups work activities, regard must be taken of the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001, as directed by Senior Management; &
  • Attendance at meetings remote from TLI Group’s Limerick Office if required.

The Ideal Candidate
